Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 is an open world racing game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. It is the newest addition to the Need for Speed racing game series.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 Gameplay
You are released in the fictive city of Fairhaven, where you are free to do anything you want. In fact, you could even choose not to do any events at all, and simply explore the urban environment the game takes place in. While driving around, you will find tons of speed cameras, which you can use to obtain a highest possible score by speeding past them. Additionally, there are ramps and hidden shortcuts to discover.
Driving dangerously will attract the attention of the police, and once they’re chasing you, it will require some clever driving tricks to get rid of them.
There is no fixed order of races to participate in and getting a new car is real easy: when you see a new car model standing around in the open world of Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012, all you have to do is press a button to make it yours.
Participating in races allows you to acquire racing points, and if you’re really good, you will unlock car parts which you can use to enhance your cars. Other than racing, Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 features various activities, such as driving in a certain way to earn yourself additional points.
The points can be used to unlock new special races, which allow you to compete against top racers. Beating top racers causes your fame to rise, making your ranking status of most wanted driver go up. Other than this, however, the game doesn’t offer much in regards of things such as a story.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 Controls
The controls of Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 are fine when using a standard controller.
The game sadly lacks the choice between manual and automatic transmission. People who prefer to use manual transmission will not be happy about this, because all cars use automatic transmission by default.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 Graphics
Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 features realistic graphics, which are absolutely stunning. The cars, the areas, it all looks amazing.
When you crash, the game will show you crash cam, which is a short cutscene that lasts a couple of seconds, showing you in detail and semi-slow motion how you crashed. While the crash cam is a nice feature, it can get annoying after a while. Especially when you get to see a crash cam even if you swear you only lightly hit something.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 Final Verdict
Lastly, Need for Speed: Most Wanted is an entertaining arcade racing game that I enjoyed playing every now and then. It could use a bit of polishing, but overall, I recommend anyone who enjoys speed, competition, and of course cars, to give Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 a try.
