Today I learned that early next year, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu will be retiring from the Pokémon anime series.
Pokemon has been an important factor in my life growing up, from the age of 13 until about my early twenties. To this date, I have happy memories of watching Pokemon marathons, collecting the trading cards, buying cute plushies and figurines and well, collecting almost everything there was to collect, really!
This does not mean that the Pokemon series is over, by the way. There will be new protagonists for the anime.
