One day in the 90s, when I was somewhere between 10 and 12 years old, some girls at my school were sporting a necklace with these plastic pacifiers on them. One girl was even sucking on one! These plastic pacifiers were available in all kinds of colors – there were even different “shapes”! Like a pram, bottle or a dolphin.
Of course I also ended up with a bunch of these now nostalgic pacifiers. I wore them as a necklace. And yeah, I undoubtedly ended up putting the bigger pacifiers in my mouth too… Not sure if it was a good thing to suck on plastic… <_<
Apparently, after doing a bit of online digging, these pacifiers were big in the party scene / rave culture before being made available for the general public.
I’m glad I still have my plastic pacifiers from the 90s. I think they look really nice, since they’re all colorful and all!
