Yesterday I picked up a package. It was from my brother and aunt! A small package for both my birthday and Christmas – with two lovely Christmas cards inside. But the small package was packing quite a few things I didn’t expect to find in it! Allow me to share some of the contents of this Christmas package with you. ^_^
Socks! They always come in handy. ^_^ Plus Scottish porridge oats and Lyle’s Golden Syrup. And the Christmas cards that were included in the package of course.
These chocolates were absolutely delicious. They were all in various shapes and flavors. The last one that I picked had a strawberry flavored filling inside!
Look! Even the cats got some snacks! Ricky and Tommy appreciate this a lot!
In the top left picture, these are white chocolate flakes, dark chocolate flakes and fruit sprinkles. In the top right is a package with small fruit jam packs. Some of the jam packs can be seen in the bottom picture of the collage.
Taking out all of the items from the box did make me feel a little bit emotional. It made me miss my family more. Especially looking at all of the Dutch products. And knowing that the Scottish products are actually from Scotland – where my brother likes to go to for vacation.
Even though Christmas will never be the same again without my parents, it would feel more festive celebrating it with my family. For now, it has pretty much been reduced to ‘any other day’, although I thoroughly enjoy the Christmas spirit around me!
Maybe in the years to come, it will change. :-)
