You know how when you cut out an object in Blender with the Boolean Modifier, you sometimes end up with this ugly shading? Well, I’ve been sitting on this the whole day for some reason and even though I ran into a similar issue with the boolean modifier in Blender before, my previous solution didn’t work.
Luckily, there are multiple ways that lead to Rome and I was able to find a solution that is good enough for what I need right now. As you can see in the image above: on the left, that’s how the shadows looked around the eyes that I cut out of my cat-head shaped cookie model after applying smooth shading and on the right, no ugly shadows.

The fix was simple: I applied a Bevel Modifier to smooth out the edges.
Yeah, that was it. Thanks for checking! :D
Thank you for checking out my Blender Note! I am by all means a beginner in Blender, so I do not feel qualified to label this post as a 'tip' or 'tutorial'. However, I decided to upload this note for myself, and hopefully it can be useful to others as well.
