I was working on a model of a cat robot in Blender, and duplicated (Shirt+D) the model and edited it to make it different from the original one. When I wanted to rotate my duplicated model, the various parts of my cat robot (face, eyes, lower body, tail) rotated around their own origins instead of as a single group. Obviously that’s not what I needed…
Unfortunately, the same is happening to my original model.
Now, I want to be able to place both my models in the proper way so I can make a nice rendered image. But this problem is getting in my way. Unfortunately, I do not know how to fix this problem, but I did find a workaround.
And I wanted to share this workaround with you and of course leave it here as a note for myself, because without a doubt, I will run into this problem at a later time with Blender. :D
The Workaround
I always have my Transform Pivot Point set to ‘Individual Origins’. So what I did, after selecting all objects that should turn at once, is set that to ‘Active Element’. Now my model rotates as I wish!
I hope this workaround works for you too. If I find the true solution, I’ll be sure to update this post!
