Today I would like to share with you my fanart of Porygon, Pokemon number 137.
For me, Porygon’s shapes were quite a challenge. I wanted to take on this challenge and try to model this Pokemon as best as I could in Blender.
I think it turned out quite well. I’m happy with it! And excited to share with you the first time ever I made fanart of Porygon!
Did you know?
Porygon became controversial due to an incident related to a specific episode of the Pokémon animated series. The controversy surrounds an episode titled “Electric Soldier Porygon,” which originally aired in Japan on December 16, 1997.
In that episode, there is a sequence that involves intense flashing lights and rapidly changing colors. Unfortunately, this particular sequence caused a significant number of viewers, especially children, to experience epileptic seizures. The flashing lights triggered photosensitive epilepsy in some people, leading to what became known as the “Pokémon seizure incident” or the “Electric Soldier Porygon incident.”
As a result, the episode was banned and Porygon became associated with the controversy. The Electric Soldier Porygon incident remains a notable moment in Pokémon history, and it led to increased awareness and precautions regarding flashing lights in animated content.
