14 to 16 May was Weekend Tourism 2026 in Ruse, with lots of stalls with handmade/locally made products, a live band, other festivities as well as this hot all balloon!
I also went to check out Weekend Tourism last year – but I was too early and didn’t get to see the hot air balloon, which is actually what I came for, hehe.
This year, I had a better idea of when the hot air balloon would be shown, because I actually found it mentioned online. :D From 6:30 to 8pm. So I got there around 7 and they were still blowing the hot air into the balloon as it lay on the ground.
Soon enough, it went up into the air! A couple of people took place in the basket of the hot air balloon.
…And then they went about this high for a minute or two before coming back down. Then another batch of people went in, and this was repeated throughout the evening. I only went once, but I think the hot air balloon was there throughout the three days of Weekend Tourism in Ruse.
