How to Curve Text Around a Circle in Blender

Here is a quick and easy tutorial showing you how to curve text around a circle in Blender.

Start by adding a Circle to your scene. This is the circle we’re going to wrap the text around.

Convert your Circle to a Curve by going to Object -> Convert to -> Curve.

Adding Top Text

Now add some text. Then go to Object Data Properties to find ‘Text on Curve’ – this is where you set it to your circle. Note: ‘Text on Curve’, is listed under ‘Transform’, but to see that, you have to open the Font section. See image above!

Now you know how to curve text along a circle in Blender and you can rotate and resize your text as you wish.

Adding Bottom Text

When you add bottom text, your text will be shown upside down, see picture above. You probably don’t want this. In order to fix this, we have to switch the direction of the circle. This is done by going into Edit Mode on your Circle and pressing W on the keyboard, and choosing Switch Direction.

But.

When you do this, your current text will switch direction! Now, maybe you like this, but this is not where I wanted to go with this Blender tutorial. So let’s fix this.

Personally, I prefer duplicating the circle and renaming it. Then Switch Direction on this duplicate circle. Add your text, and set ‘Text on Curve’ to your duplicated circle.

Now your text appears inside of your circle. You probably don’t want that either. Luckily we can easily fix this too!

Just change Offset X to move your text outside of your circle.

And you’re done!

Don’t forget to either delete or hide the circles in your viewport and/or renders. Have fun!
