Along with some cat toys, I recently also bought a window hammock for cats. I figured especially Ricky would appreciate a nice window seat! (Tommy isn’t very adventurous.)
We all know cats love looking out the window. Well, unfortunately our new apartment doesn’t come with window sills big enough for the cats to relax on. For this reason, I previously bought a new scratch post, one that was tall enough to give a proper view. And I thought a window hammock for cats would be a nice addition!
What is a Window Hammock for Cats?
A window hammock for cats is a specially designed seat/bed that attaches to a window with the aid of suction cups. This allows your cat to rest comfortably while enjoying an elevated view of the outside world.
In short, a window seat for cats is a practical and enjoyable addition to any cat-friendly home. It provides a safe* and comfortable way for your cat to enjoy an outdoor view.
*There is always a chance the suction cups let go. For this reason, I advice not to attach the window seat to high up and make sure that there are no objects under the window seat that the cat could get hurt on should one or more of the suction cups let go, causing your cat to fall down.
Personally, I check the suction cups every day by pressing onto them and so far, they haven’t come off.

No manual was given with my purchase of the window hammock for cats. I referred to their product page for the instructions, which were simple to follow.
The cat hammock that I bought should be able to hold up to 25 kilograms. That means both Tommy and Ricky should be able to sit on it at once. Well, this will never happen, so I’m going to assume it’s good enough for one 5 kilogram cat!
The hammock comes with four huge suction cups, so I do believe these can hold quite a bit of weight. Although I didn’t have much faith in the idea of suction cups being able to hold not just my cat’s weight, but also the cat moving around it, I must say I’m surprised so far. No accidents have happened after several weeks of use. Ricky loves the window hammock for cats!
All in all, I think the window seat is a success and Ricky looks super cute and comfy on it. I don’t regret this purchase one bit!
