I Made a Neocities Website!

For the longest time, I had been thinking about making a website on Neocities. On the one hand, I thought it wasn’t necessary because I’ve been having my own website for ages anyway… But then I was thinking, why not? I mean, I like the idea of experimenting with some hand-written code anyway. Plus, I like the idea of creating an extensive profile page of myself, with a lot of details about like what music I like, what games, etc. Just… anything I can think of! Just like I used to on my websites. With the spirit of y2k internet in mind, I made a Neocities website: inspiremari.neocities.org.

I’ve been having a lot of fun working on my Neocities website. In fact, it feels somewhat refreshing to work with pure HTML files again. That’s been a long time, for sure! The site looks somewhat basic for now, but I know I’ll be having a lot of fun expanding it as time goes on. For now, I’ve finished the About Me section, the My Pets section, created a gallery with some of my favorite artworks and added a little gimmick on the front page: Feed My Fish!

Feed My Fish!

I like that a lot of Neocities websites have unique, interactive features, such as pets that you can play with, a little game you can play, etc. I wanted that too! So I was thinking of a little aquarium – and allow the user to feed my fish! ^_^ Don’t overfeed my fish, though…

I’ll probably post some major updates about my Neocities every now and then. It won’t replace inspiremari.nl of course, and it won’t become a copy. It’s a nice little side project that I’ll be sure to have a lot of fun working on! It will look and feel completely different – and each page I’ll add will be completely newly written. So if you’re curious to learn more about a thing or two, do check out my Neocities website!
