My Cats Want in and Out the Door Repeatedly!

We all know that cats don’t like closed doors. My cats are no different. I like to keep all doors open where possible, but when it’s cold – or too hot – I will turn on the inverter to regulate the temperature. And to not waste money trying to heat up or cool down the entire house, I have to close the living room so that the heat or cold stays where it is needed: where I am.

As a result, the cats will have to ask me to open the door for them.

This is not a problem, I’ll happily open the door…

But it does get a little bit annoying when I have to stand up 10 times in an hour just to entertain the cats because they don’t like it that the door is closed.

And that’s really it – they don’t like it when the door is closed. When the door is open, they’ll easily stay in the same spot for several hours.

Ah… so be it. The cats will just have to exercise some patience at times.

I actually set up my Tapo C200 Camera to monitor my cats. On my laptop, I have VLC running with the livestream of the Tapo security camera, so I can check if a cat is in front of the door. This is useful because I’ll most likely be listening to music and won’t be able to hear any scratching or meowing!

At the same time, I was able to record some – ahem – funny moments of Ricky and Tommy wanting in and out of the living room repeatedly.

Watch the Video!

It’s been a while but I finally got around to sorting the saved footage from the Tapo C200 camera and create a funny video. It took me over an hour to create this video, but I tried to make it as entertaining as possible. Please, if you could spare 6 minutes of your time, do have a look. I think the video of me needing to open the door repeatedly over the span of a couple of hours turned out pretty entertaining!
