I found a folder with blinkies that I made back in the day! And when I say “back in the day” I mean it: these are from 2004, lol! (Maybe even a year or two earlier, but this is their creation date.) I decided to make a free blinkies page, for anyone to use as they wish!
“Blinkies” are small, animated graphics that were popular on the early internet era. In the early 2000’s, these types of graphics were widely used on personal websites and forums, especially to express oneself. Blinkies could depict anything – something someone was a fan of, a country, special words or saying, there was no limit!
Sadly, as the internet began to change and social media sites became more popular, people stopped making personal websites and hence, stopped making use of blinkies.
So, in an effort to keep the old internet nostalgia alive, I uploaded my old blinkies free to use for anyone who wants to! Go to my Blinkies page. :3
If you’re curious, I made these animated blinkies one frame at a time in MS Paint, and animated them with a program called “WWW GIF Animator”. The things I remember, heh…
