Today I decided to try my hand at making a potato gratin! I had tried this only once with an oven and failed… but now I wanted to try it again with an air fryer, since we have one. And it was a success! And very simple to make. So here’s my easy air fryer potato gratin recipe.
This Is How I Made It
First, I peeled a bunch of potatoes. I cut them into quarters and boiled them with some bay leaf. When that was done, I put the pot of potatoes aside and stir-fried some onions and garlic with coconut oil and butter.
I then started mashing the potatoes (I simply used a spatula) inside the pot (after draining the water) and added some salt and pepper as well as basil. I also added the onions and garlic through the mixture. Lastly, I added two eggs and some grated cheese.
Then, I added the mixture into a glass container, put a few slices of cheese in the middle, added more of the potato mash on top, and finally topped it all off with grated cheese.
I cooked it in the air fryer for about 15 minutes at a 160 degrees Celsius (320°F) and voila – the result is as pictured above!
Unfortunately the dish doesn’t stay as beautiful when you start scooping up some of it onto a plate. But it was delicious nonetheless!
